The ancient walls date back to historic times. The quiet mansion is furnished with particular attention, modern baths and good taste while ever-fresh flowers enhance its charm. Climbing plants grow along the walls, and an old millstone has been transformed into a fountain.
The terrace is a real gem, illuminated by the morning sun, and the smell of homemade cakes fills the cosy parlor and breakfast loggia each day; making your vacation in the Pünthof an unforgettable experience.

The Pünthof Mansion Throughout History

Comfort and hospitality in a medieval hotel, in the holiday village of Algund in South Tyrol

The Pünthof Mansion has welcomed guests for centuries. Dating back to Roman times, the ancient Via Claudia Augusta lies along the Etsch River and brought travellers to the north along the western margin of the Meran basin. In the Medieval era, when Tyrol was governed by bishops and feudal landowners, the Bindhof Mansion was built in the 13th century, surrounded by orchards and lush vineyards in Algund. In 1633 Christian Wolf from Bavaria settled there with his family.
The family extended and renovated their house, as recounted in the family chronicle over the years. The Renaissance decorations in the tower still bear witness to the Pünthof family’s level of social and cultural life. The Wolfs renovated their house and barn with love and with particular attention. The historical part of the building is protected as artistic heritage. The history, services and modern comforts all represent the glamour of this dream holiday home in South Tyrol.

Refreshment, fresh air and sunlight in the green surroundings of the graden village of Algund near Meran.
